Pune News : Obscene ads on LED display boards in Kondhwa irked locals

Pune: Residents of Kondhwa were in shock when they saw obscene words were being displayed on the digital advertisement boards installed at Fakhri Hills chowk in Kondhwa.

It Maharashtra Navnirman Sena Pune city President Sainath Babar who reported about it through his social media that such obscene words were being displayed on the board causing severe disturbance among the local residents.

Similar, digital display board installed off Salunkhe Vihar road was also seen today afternoon displaying such obscene words. The matter was immediately reported to the Kondhwa police station.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Sainath Babar said, “I think these are advertisements running on the board installed by former NCP Corporator. I have raised the issue with local Police station and Pune city police commissioner too.’

Pune Pulse spoke to corporator Haji Gafur Pathan and asked him about the boards displaying such obscene content. He said, “I have made a complaint about this incident to Kondhwa police station and the police officials will initiate action. My opposition corporator should have asked to switch off the connection rather than publicly displaying it. Similar incident had happened earlier too where I had got the board repaired but someone has tampered and hacked the display system.

When Pune Pulse approached Sham Taru, Assistant Municipal Commissioner of Wanowrie-Ramtekdi ward office, PMC he said he was not aware about this incident. “I don’t know about this, but as you informed me, I will send our team to remove it on the immediate basis.’’

Locals alleged that such LED boards displaying at public places are disturbing people and causing big discomfort.
