Pune News: PCMC Adopts AI Technology For Hoarding Regulation And Revenue Management
The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is launching an AI-powered hoarding detection and surveillance system under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. This initiative aims to monitor and regulate billboards and advertising hoardings across the city using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology.
The system is designed to identify and remove illegal hoardings, prevent revenue losses in outdoor advertising, and enhance municipal earnings. PCMC will also become the first municipal corporation in Maharashtra to introduce real-time bidding for outdoor advertisement rights. Additionally, the project includes a tree protection system when granting new outdoor media permits. With this initiative, PCMC became the first municipal corporation in the state to implement this project.
During the inauguration, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis emphasized the increasing issue of unauthorized hoardings in various cities. He stated that PCMC’s AI-driven initiative would help ensure only authorized advertisements are displayed, preventing the city’s visual clutter and maintaining urban aesthetics.
