Pimpri Chinchwad, April 16, 2025:
The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has appealed to citizens to cooperate in paying their property tax dues on time for the financial year 2025-26. Starting April 16, property tax bills will be delivered door-to-door through trained women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) under the Maharashtra Women’s Economic Development Corporation.

The PCMC’s Taxation and Collection Department successfully conducted training for these women on Tuesday (April 15), equipping them with knowledge of the property tax system, bill format, mobile application usage, delivery procedures, and citizen interaction protocols. This initiative not only ensures timely delivery of tax bills but also empowers women from economically weaker sections by offering employment opportunities.

Speaking during the session, Avinash Shinde, Head of Taxation and Collection, explained the basics of the property tax system and provided detailed guidance on safety measures and communication during bill distribution. The session also focused on addressing public queries, with active participation from the women attendees.

This year’s property tax bills are also available online at www.pcmcindia.gov.in. Taxpayers who pay their full dues online before June 30 will receive a 10% discount on the general tax component. Women SHG members have been issued official ID cards by the PCMC and will begin distributing bills from April 16.

Bills marked with a “Defaulter” stamp will be accompanied by a pre-seizure notice. These bills will be handed over directly to property owners only. The PCMC has urged housing society presidents, secretaries, and security guards to facilitate smooth entry for these women and extend full cooperation.

This initiative under the ‘Siddhi’ project not only boosts PCMC’s revenue collection but also promotes social inclusion, women empowerment, and efficient public service delivery. Citizens are encouraged to update their mobile numbers linked to their properties to receive real-time updates and ensure smooth tax transactions.

“It is every taxpayer’s responsibility to pay property tax promptly upon receiving the bill. Timely payment enables the municipality to deliver better civic services. We request citizens to cooperate with bill distributors and contact the concerned department in case of any issue.” – Shekhar Singh, Commissioner and Administrator, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation

“With door-to-door bill delivery, citizens can avail early payment discounts before June. Linking mobile numbers to property records ensures timely updates and easy access to relevant information.” – Pradeep Jambhale-Patil, Additional Commissioner (1), PCMC
