The residents of Pimple Saudagar have made a request to the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) to create a bus depot in Wakad, a rapidly developing area in Pimpri Chinchwad. The proposal aims to provide easy access to public transportation for the residents of the city and make their daily commutes more convenient. Residents Ravi Bhosale, Chetan Kappe and Prashant Dhakane recently met the PMPML CMD and handed over a letter demanding various issues.

Prashant Dhakane, a resident of Pimple Saudagar stated, “Residents of Pimple Saudagar recently met PMPML CMD Om Prakash Bakoria and demanded a bus depot in Wakad so that the public transport connectivity can be increased. The CMD has shown keen interest and assured us that steps shall be taken to address the issue.”

The PMPML has yet to make an official statement on the proposal. However, the residents remain optimistic and hopeful for a positive response, as the bus depot would greatly benefit the people of Wakad and improve the public transportation system of Pune as a whole.

Another resident Chetan Kappe said, “We are demanding a bus depot to be started so it will help to ease the transportation and become a centralised place from where other bus services may start. PMPML too is positively responsive to our concerns.”

“We have not taken any decision of starting the bus depot at Wakad yet, as there is no facility of electricity. Once, the resources are available we will think of it,” said Omprakash Bakoria, PMPML, chairman and managing director.
