In light of the ongoing rain season, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has issued a crucial appeal to all private medical practitioners and clinic pathology labs. The appeal emphasizes the immediate reporting of cases related to insect-borne and water-borne diseases to the municipal medical department.

As per the guidelines of the Maharashtra Nursing Home Registration Act 2021 (Amended), it is mandatory for all private medical facilities to submit complete information on specific diseases within the prescribed time frame. The diseases include but are not limited to Cholera (Pataki), Japanese Encephalitis, Dengue, Infectious Jaundice, Gastroenteritis, Leptospirosis, Malaria, Chikungunya, and any other diseases notified by the Government.

When a patient with any of these diseases is found or admitted to a private hospital, the following information must be immediately reported to the concerned zonal hospital of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation:

  1. Name of the clinic
  2. Name of the patient
  3. Age of the patient
  4. Address of the patient
  5. Date of treatment
  6. Date of report

This information should be provided in written form via the designated email ID of the concerned zonal hospital in Pimpri Chinchwad.

The Municipal Corporation stresses the importance of adhering to these reporting guidelines and warns that any delay, evasion, or negligence in providing the required information within the specified timeframe may result in legal action. Both the Maharashtra Nursing Home Registration Act 2021 (Amended) and the Epidemic Disease Act 1897 can be invoked against non-compliant medical facilities.

It is essential for all private medical practitioners, clinics, and pathology labs to take note of this appeal and contribute to the collective efforts to monitor and control vector and waterborne diseases in the region. By promptly reporting such cases, the medical community can assist the authorities in implementing effective measures to safeguard public health during the rainy season.
