Pimpri: Pimpri-Chinchwad Police have destroyed 683.830 kg of ganja seized in 52 operations conducted over the past few months. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Sandeep Doifode stated that this action was carried out under the Chief Minister’s Seven-Point Program aimed at improving governance and public safety.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has directed all government departments to implement the Seven-Point Program, which focuses on citizen-centric governance, clearing pending matters in government offices, and maintaining cleanliness. As part of this initiative, Pimpri-Chinchwad Police intensified their crackdown on illegal ganja possession and sales in recent months, leading to large-scale seizures. The confiscated drugs were stored until all legal formalities for destruction were completed.

To execute this operation, a special police team was formed under Additional Commissioner of Police Vasant Pardeshi, DCP (Headquarters) Vivek Patil, DCP Swapna Gore, and DCP Sandeep Doifode

The team ensured that all legal procedures were followed before the 683.830 kg of ganja was destroyed at Maharashtra Enviro Power Limited in Ranjangaon MIDC, in the presence of representatives from the Forensic Lab Pune, State Excise Department Pune, and Maharashtra Pollution Control Board Pune.

The operation was successfully conducted by the Anti-Narcotics Squad, led by Senior Police Inspector Santosh Patil, Assistant Police Inspectors Sachin Kadam and Rajendra Bamble, along with Police Constables Kishor Pardeshi, Mayur Wadkar, Shilpa Kamble, Nikhil Shete, Santosh Swami, Sadanand Rudrakshe, Randhir Mane, and Kapilesh Igwe.
