Pune News: Pisoli and Surrounding Areas Suffer From Poor Sewage Management; Supriya Sule Urges PMC To Take Action
Pisoli and its neighboring areas, recently merged into the Pune Municipal Corporation, are grappling with severe sewage management issues. In multiple locations, drainage lines are either damaged or completely blocked, causing sewage to overflow onto the streets. This situation has led to highly unsanitary conditions, forcing residents to endure an unpleasant environment that poses significant health risks.
Highlighting the urgency of the situation, Member of Parliament Supriya Sule posted an appeal on X today, urging the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Commissioner to address the problem. Both Pisoli and Undri, which are experiencing similar issues, fall under the Baramati Lok Sabha constituency represented by Sule.

The residents of Pisoli and surrounding areas are facing daily challenges due to the deteriorating infrastructure. The overflowing sewage not only affects the hygiene of the area but also threatens public health by potentially spreading diseases. The current state of the sewage system has become a major concern for the local community.
Adding to the woes, neighboring Undri is also facing similar problems. Housing societies in these areas are compelled to rely on sewage treatment plants, which are not cost-effective and put a considerable strain on their finances. The inefficiency of these plants further exacerbates the problem, making it difficult for residents to manage waste effectively.
Residents are urging the PMC to address these issues promptly. There is an immediate need for the civic body to repair and upgrade the drainage systems to prevent further health hazards and financial burdens on the communities. The Municipal Commissioner is being called upon to take swift action to resolve this pressing matter and improve living conditions in these areas.
