Pune News : PMC Additional Commissioner Vikas Dhakane Directs Prompt Solutions for Road Issues In NIBM Kondhwa

The Pune Municipal Corporation’s Additional Commissioner Vikas Dhakane held a meeting regarding road works in the NIBM Kondhwa area where he has instructed PMC officials of several departments to complete the necessary works on a priority basis.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Sonu Vashi, resident of Marvel Isola, NIBM said, “Primarily there are encroachment issues, electrical issues, and more which the PMC Additional Commissioner Vikas Dhakane took cognizance of. For electrical issues, he has asked to inform the MSEDCL department to complete their works on priority.  More issues like poles lying in the middle of the roads, and small shops due to which encroachments happen were looked at by Vikas Dhakane.

He has given orders to rectify all the issues. I have been raising issues primarily of encroachments, road widening, traffic, etc right from Palace Orchards to Kad Nagar. For which there was a positive response from him. However, Vikas Dhakane’s only direction to the PMC officials about solving these issues is not going to be enough. The concerned departments should come together, inspect all the issues by themselves & implement solutions for the issues to actually get them resolved.”

The meeting held today morning was regarding the widening of roads in various areas like Jyoti Hotel Road, Cloud Nine Road, Bakers Point Road, Kondhwa Gaothan Road, Parge Nagar, etc for which Vikas Dhakane gave orders to the officials of various departments to resolve the issues immediately.

Parveen Tambe, Founder Member, NIBM Undri Road Residents’ Forum, said, “Issues of NIBM areas like Cloud 9, Parge Nagar, Konark Puram, Sheetal Petrol Pump to Jyoti Hotel Road etc were raised in the meeting. The issue of Cloud 9 road is about the connecting road which goes to Anandvan as it has become non-accessible. Clearing off the side margin is still pending near Natasha Enclave.

Dhakane instructed to remove footpaths & poles. Also, for the bottlenecks happening near Bizzbay Mall, acquisition was pending. So, the officials have been instructed to acquire the concerned land & resolve the issue. Hence, the road widening works will begin in 1 month.”

Nanda Lonkar, ex-corporator, NIBM road said, “The points discussed in the meeting were about widening of Jyoti Hotel Road, widening at Baker’s Point, road condition at Cloud 9, developing amenity space near Elina Living, encroachments and more. The concerned officials of all departments were present & were instructed to do all the works on priority.

Vikas Dhakane had visited the area several times before. Now, he has seriously instructed all the officials that if the concerned works are not started soon, he will issue suspension orders.”
