Pune News : PMC Establishes War Room for Citizens to Report Illegal Property Usage

Pune: To curb the rising incidents of illegal usage of properties in Pune City, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has created a war room for Pune citizens to immediately report such incidents.
As per information, the annual taxable amount of the respective properties is determined by levying the newly created taxes for residential, non-residential, vacant land etc in the jurisdiction of Pune Municipal Corporation as per the provisions of the Maharashtra Municipal Corporation Act.
A large number of unauthorized businesses are operating in the residential areas of the city. Unauthorized hotels, restaurants, bars, taverns, etc are operating in the residential areas without taking relevant permissions from the concerned department. The music system of such hotels keeps playing loudly from late night to early morning, creating irritation and problems amongst residents.
Also, because many vehicles are parked on the road by the citizens coming to these places, the problem of parking and traffic is increasing. Many news and media houses have started reporting such incidents daily. Also, some public representatives and social organizations have complained to the PMC about this.
So, a war room has been created for the citizens of Pune Municipal Corporation through the Taxation and Tax Collection Department to prevent financial losses to Pune Municipal Corporation. Citizens can notify the PMC about any type of illegal business in residential properties like beauty parlours, clinics, unauthorized hotels and more.
When the address & details of any such business are reported by the citizens, the PMC would immediately take cognizance of it after which strict action would be taken against that business. Citizens can provide all the information about such businesses on this Whatsapp number – +91 – 83080 59999.
