The Pune Municipal Corporation’s Wanawadi Ramtekdi ward office took stern action against the hoardings installed under the jurisdiction of Wanawadi Ramtekdi ward office yesterday. The sky sign department of the PMC alongwith the workforce consisting of cranes, police force, removed ten hoardings which were recently erected in Wanawadi.

Former mayor of Pune and city president of Nationalist Congress Party Prashant Jagtap on Sunday, April 16 had held a protest under the banner of Wanawadi Kruti Samiti against the unauthorised tree cutting, hoardings, illegal vegetable vendors and squatters making the open space their home and making the life of Wanawadi residents insecure and unhealthy.

Pune Pulse spoke to Prashant Jagtap, former mayor and city president of Nationalist Congress Party who informed, “I am happy that PMC has acted upon illegal activities that were hampering the quality of life of Wanawadi citizens. Illegal cutting of trees, vegetable vendors adding to the nuisance, food stalls making the area look untidy were some of the areas which were causing lot of inconvenience to the residents. PMC must ensure that such unauthorised activities do not take place anywhere in the city now.”
