Pune: Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is all set to increase connectivity between several missing road links of Pune as 38 roads will be connected soon.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Vijay Kulkarni, Chief Engineer (Road), PMC said, “There are various roads of Pune where connectivity between two roads is either incomplete or not there at all. Due to this, commuters have to take long detours to travel from one place to another. Thus, to reduce travel time & enhance connectivity, the PMC has decided to prioritize the work of connecting missing road links of Pune.”

As per information from Vijay Kulkarni, PMC has collaborated with a private expert to assess the scope of the task. The consultant is entrusted with creating a detailed project report (DPR) covering land acquisition requirements, funding and feasibility for these thoroughfares. The roads are expected to be completed in six months.

Hadapsar, Nagar Road, Kothrud, Kondhwa, Katraj, Yerawada, Ambegaon Narhe, and Satara Road are among the areas set to benefit from missing road connectivity work. For this project, 38 vital roadways have been identified like Paud Road to Karve Road near Chitale Bandhu shop, Gunjan Chowk to riverside road, Ekalavya College to the Pune-Bengaluru highway, Airport Vimanagar links 1 and 2, Hume factory to Sinhagad Road, Mundhwa road to Sade Satra Nali, Kondhwa fire station to BG Lonkar Road and more.
