Major Changes to Bus Passes:

  • Discontinued: The current daily pass of ₹40 and monthly pass of ₹900 for Pune or Pimpri-Chinchwad limits will no longer be available.
  • New Unified Passes:
    • Daily pass across both city limits: ₹70
    • Monthly pass: ₹1,500
  • PMRDA Pass Revision:
    • Daily pass revised from ₹120 to ₹150
  • Unchanged: Student, senior citizen, and differently-abled passes remain unaffected.

These decisions were formalized during the PMPML Board meeting held on May 13, 2025. The meeting was attended by senior officials, including the Commissioners of Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporations, the Regional Transport Officer (Pune), and the Director of the Central Institute of Road Transport (CIRT).

PMPML Fleet Expansion and Staffing:

To support growing transit demands, PMRDA has sanctioned ₹230 crore for the procurement of 500 new CNG buses. Additional buses will be added based on the ownership ratio of Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. To optimize operational efficiency, PMPML will also hire contract-based personnel through third-party agencies.

Implementation of these changes is expected to begin shortly.
