Pune News : Prepaid Auto Service to start in three areas of Pune soon

Pune Traffic Police and Regional Transport Organisation (RTO) have jointly decided to launch prepaid rickshaw services at Pune Railway station, Swargate and Wakdewadi ST Bus Station areas. For the past few days, citizens have been demanding that prepaid rickshaw stands should be started in the city which are safe, reliable and also economical. 


The initiative aims to curb incidents of passenger exploitation in crowded areas. Coordination with local rickshaw associations has also taken place to ensure a smooth implementation of this service.

Commuters can now look forward to safe and hassle-free rickshaw rides. This move is expected to improve the overall transportation experience in the city.

” There was a demand to start prepaid rickshaws at Pune railway stations and crowded places. For the convenience of passengers, the service will be started in Pune Railway Station, Swargate, Wakdewadi Bus Stand area,” said Vijay Magar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Pune Traffic Police.  

Passengers frequently complained about refusal to driving to nearby areas, overcharging, exhortbitant prices and not following the meter rates, misbehavior with passengers, etc. Hence, this move was taken to launch a prepaid service.,” informed Ajit Shinde, Regional Transport officer, RTO Pune.

“For convenience of passengers this will definitely be helpful, until now we haven’t received any official statement from the RTO but if this will be implemented we welcome this move and shall do our best in making it a success,” informed Dr Keshav Kshirsagar, President, Baghtoy Rikshawala Association, Pune.
