Pune News : Pune city traffic police announces temporary traffic diversion in Koregaon Park due to Pune Metro station work
The Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. is currently undertaking the steel girder erection work for the metro station at Bund garden on the Pune Metro Rich-3 route, between Civil Court and Ramwadi. In order to facilitate this construction work, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Transport, Pune City, Vijayakumar Magar, has issued a temporary traffic change order for the Koregaon Park Transport Division, in accordance with the authority vested in him under Sections 115, 116(1) (a) (b), 116 (4), and 117 of the Motor Vehicles Act. The order, bearing number Poua / Wah/2534/2023, dated 30/03/2023, has been extended till 11/05/2023, and will be in effect between 22:00 hrs to 06:00 hrs.
As per the order, the following temporary traffic changes will be implemented in Koregaon Park under the Traffic Department Pune:
The traffic from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Setu to Tarakeshwar Chowk will be diverted between 22:00 hrs to 06:00 hrs, and necessary closures will be implemented.
Alternative routes have been designated for different destinations:
Vehicles coming from Pune station towards Yerwada will be diverted via Mobaj Chowk, Mangaldas Road, Blue Diamond Chowk, Koregaon Park Junction, and Parnkuti Chowk.
Vehicles coming from Pune Station and going to Boat Club will need to take a left turn at Mobaj Chowk, proceed on the designated road, and then turn around at Dhole-Patil Road to reach their destination.
Vehicles coming from Boat Club Road and going towards Yerwada will need to go directly from Sriman Chowk to their destination via Amritlal Mehta Road, passing through Koregaon Park Chowk.
Vehicles coming from Yerwada and going to Pune station will need to take a right turn at Parnkuti Chowk, then proceed via Mahatma Gandhi Chowk, Koregaon Park Junction, Blue Diamond Chowk, and finally reach their destination.
These temporary traffic changes have been put in place to ensure smooth construction work for the Pune Metro station at Bundagarden. Commuters are advised to follow the designated alternative routes and cooperate with the authorities to avoid any inconvenience during this period.
