Pune: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Pune staged a protest outside the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) building alleging that the ex-MLAs, ex-party leaders and office bearers are pressuring PMC to approve the tenders of ‘known’ contractors for road construction

The protestors demanded that rectification, re-tendering and inquiry should be conducted of the officials concerned.

“Since the Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis government has been formed, the interference of BJP politicians in PMC’s official work of tender approvals has increased. And these politicians by pressurizing officials give the contract to their closed ones. In the last 20 days, the tender for concretization of the roads and Katraj Kondhwa road were passed, where BJP was involved, due to this PMC has faced losses in cores,” alleged Prashant Jagtap, NCP, Pune city president.
