Pune News : Ramp and underpass at Chandani chowk in Pune opened for traffic
The ramp and underpass built at Chandani chowk in Pune was opened for vehicular traffic. Two major sections of the road at Chandani chowk that are opened will be a great relief for the motorists from Bavdhan and Kothrud.
On Monday, the underpass connecting Kothrud to Mulshi, and a ramp connecting Bavdhan to Katraj were opened. This will help motorists to avoid the busy Chandani chowk junction. According to the civic officials on an average 16 lakh vehicles pass through this road everyday. NHAI claims that the road work is 90 percent complete and shall meet the deadline of May 1 to open the road completely for vehicular traffic.
Speaking about the recent developments, C S Krishnan, a member of Bavdhan Citizen Forum, stated, “The actual bridge at Chandani Chowk has not been inaugurated yet, but the roads leading to it, including the service road from Kothrud and Warje towards Bavdhan and Mulshi under the tunnel, and the bridge from Bavdhan towards Satara road, have been inaugurated to curb traffic congestion in the area.”
