Pune: Residents near Sadhu Vasvani Bridge in Koregaon Park are in distress as a lot of traffic inconvenience will be created due to the demolition of Sadhu Vaswani Bridge commencing soon. Hence, they have demanded that an alternate route should be provided soon.
As per information shared by Dhairyashil Vandekar, President of Vithalrao Vandekar Foundation, Sadhu Vasvani Bridge witnesses one of the heaviest traffic in Pune including the VVIP traffic. Without the creation/planning of any alternate routes, the commuters will face issues. They will be under the impression that legitimate substitute choices are not made accessible to them in time.
Hence, in the interest of the public, we request Pune’s Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar & Devendra Fadnavis, PMC Commissioner, Police Commissioner and MD Maha Metro to please ensure that at least the following is completed before the demolition of Sadhu Vasvani Bridge:
1. Commence Shivaji Nagar to Bund Garden metro service
2. Open the road from ABC Chowk to Ghorpadi – under Defense control, for the public, till such time the new SV Bridge is opened for use. The road must be opened and available for public use 24 hours a day
3. Route from Mangaldas Road via Wadia College to Residency Club Chowk must have a continuous and uninterrupted left turn for vehicles with the route monitored by sufficient traffic personnel
4. Roads must be widened and repaired
5. Heavy traffic must be banned from 8 am to 8 pm daily on this route
6. Above route must be declared as no parking, no halting, no hawking
