Bavdhan: Bavdhan residents have taken an initiative under the tagline “One Hour for Nature” to keep their city clean. In a recent event, over 40 volunteers, along with kids above 5 years and senior citizens, participated in a cleanliness drive in Bavdhan on March 5. The drive was organized at Bavdhan Tekdi and lasted from 7 am to 8:45 am. During this time, the volunteers collected 47 big bags of plastics trash, gutka packets, liquor bottles, and other waste items. The aim of the drive was to keep the city and nature clean.

Hitesh Shroff, one of the organizers of the drive, said, “Our aim behind the drive is to keep the city and nature clean. So in future too we are planning for more such drives with a gap of 3 to 4 weeks. The next one is planned on March 26.”

Shroff also expressed his concern about the amount of waste collected during the drive, He said, “Most of the waste collected is allegedly thrown by the shops and hotels in the area, so we may plan an awareness drive and more clean ups to maintain cleanliness in the future as well.”

The volunteers who participated in the drive expressed their satisfaction and happiness in being able to contribute towards a cleaner environment. The organizers hope that such initiatives will inspire more people to take responsibility for their surroundings and work towards keeping their city and nature clean.
