Last year. During the same period, the water level in the four dams was 17.49 TMC.

Last year, Pune city witnessed good rainfall as a result of which a good amount of water was stored in all four dams supplying water to the Pune city. According to irrigation department it has 62.08 per cent of water stock as compared to 60.01 per cent.

The issue may aggregate further as the city has to face severe dry months like April, May and June till the onset of the monsoon by the middle of June. Vijay Patil, executive engineer of the Irrigation Department said, “Due to good rainfall in the last monsoon season, we have good water storage in our dams. We have just entered in March and as compared to last year we have surplus water stock. So there is need not to be worried.’’

As of now Temghar has 11.75 per cent, Varasgaon 78.01 per cent, Panshet 62.56 per cent and Khadakwasla 50.63 per cent.
