Pune News Seven injured in car & container collision on Bakori-Theur Ashtavinayak Highway

A car and a container collided head-on in front of the Jogeshwari temple, on the Ashtavinayak highway near Bakori-Theur. The crash resulted in seven injuries.

The front of the car was damaged in the collision. As per information, the incident occurred at around 7 pm. Four of the seven occupants in the car are seriously injured and are identified as Ganesh Jadhav, Vinod Bhojane, Vitthal Jogdand, and Hemant Desai who are undergoing treatment at a hospital. 

In this collision, the driver of the car was trapped inside and was rescued and admitted to the hospital by the police and bystanders. Police Inspector (Crime) of Lonikand Police Station Seema Dhakne and staff arrived at the accident scene as soon as they learned about the incident.

The injured were admitted to the hospital right away with the assistance of the public. This accident caused significant traffic congestion. The problem was resolved when both vehicles were removed by Lonikand Police and the Loni Traffic Department. 

An activist and a resident said that the accident occurred because of a sharp turn in front of the Jogeshwari temple. The sharp turn is a result of the safety nets installed by the forest department.
