Pune News : Soon, State transport bus stand to shift from Wakdewadi to Shivaji Nagar

Pune: State government has decided to build a multimodal transport hub at Shivaji Nagar and bus stand of the State Transport Buses (ST) soon to shift at its original place in Shivajinagar, said BJP MLA Sidharth Shirole on Tuesday, March 13. 

Pune Bharatiya Janata Party leaders and MLA Sidharth Shiole, Sunil Kamble and Madhuri Misal had raised questions regarding the same in the legislative assembly on Tuesday, March 14. 

According to them,considering metro construction work, ST bus stand in Shivaji Nagar was temporarily shifted to Wakadewadi. As per a memorandum signed in between ST and Metro, Mahametro assured to build a stand. Now even after completion of metro work,no construction of the bus stand has been started.

Also due to the new bus stand in Wakdewadi, old Pune-Mumbai road daily witnessing traffic jams. Hence BJP leaders requested to shift ST bus stand to its original space as per the memorandum signed by two parties.

MLA Sidharth Shirole told, in 2019 when Devendra Fadnavis was chief minister it was decided to construct a multi modal transport facility at Shivajinagar and Metro will help to construct it. However when MVA government came into power nothing happened. Now all the metro has completed their work, now its their responsibility to shift the bus stand from Wakadewadi to Shivaji Nagar as people need to be far away from the city to catch a bus.

MLA Sidharth Shirole told, minister Dada Bhuse assured to built a multi modal transport facility at Shivajinagar within next two years, he also assured soon he will shift ST bus stand at its original place in Shivajinagar.
