The main temple door’s sliding lock was broken by the thieves, who then gained entry and managed to steal away around 2 lakhs from the donation boxes.

Six donation boxes at the Tarakeshwar temple were broken by thieves. The event happened on June 4 between 1:30 and 6:00 in the morning. In this regard, the Yerawada police have registered a case. According to the police, the thieves managed to steal two lakh rupees from the temple and smashed the donation boxes. The main temple door’s sliding lock was broken by the thieves, who then gained entry.

Situated across Bund Garden in Yerawada, on the Parnakuti hill, lies the Tarakeshwar Temple. In this instance, Yerawada village resident and temple trustee Sudhir Vasantrao Wambure, age 67, filed a complaint with the Yerawada police station.

Santosh Patil, police inspector, Assistant Commissioner Aarti Bansode, and Deputy Commissioner Vijaykumar Magar carried out an examination of the scene. The temple’s CCTV video has been collected for examination and the police are also tracking the potential thieves. Meanwhile, Senior Inspector Swapnil Patil has been assigned for further investigation in this regard.
