Pune: For all the railway enthusiasts and visitors of Pune city, Joshi’s Museum of Miniature Railways is a must-visit place. The museum was opened to the public on 1st April 1998 in Kothrud. It was founded by B. S. Joshi (Bhau Joshi), a keen enthusiast and a train models collector. 

The museum is a tribute to the golden age of rail travel, with meticulously crafted replicas of trains and railway stations worldwide. Visitors can marvel at the intricate details of each exhibit, from the miniature locomotives and carriages to the tiny passengers and staff bustling about the stations. In addition to the impressive displays, the museum also features interactive exhibits allowing visitors to experience the magic of railways. 

The museum also finds a mention in the “Limca Book of Records 2004” as the only one-of-a-kind miniature train model museum in India.

The museum is the culmination of a lifetime of passion and hard work for Joshi, who hopes to inspire future generations of railway enthusiasts with his collection. The museum has received rave reviews from visitors, who praise the staff’s attention to detail and passion. The museum also consists of a working model of an entire city, and the work is shown as a show with a storyline lasting about 25 minutes. Entry is free for everyone below the age of three years, with an Rs. 120 charge for everyone else.
