Pune News : Water issues of Undri and other merged villages may end by May end

Former minister Vijay Shivtare on Monday, April 3 held a meeting with the Pune Municipal Corporation, Vikram Kumar, water department head Anirudh Pawaskar, Dr Kunal Khemnar, additional commissioner, and other officials of PMC

The water issues of Ambegaon Budruk, Ambegaon Khurd, Undri and other partially merged villages will be resolved by May 15, 2023, informed Shivtare after the meeting was held in PMC headquarters. The meeting was also attended by Swati Takle, Shrikant Lipane, Avinash Harpale, Dr Tejaswini Gole, Sanjeev Chimnani, and others. 

Shivtare further stated that ever since the villages were merged in PMC, the water issues have worsened. Drinking water issue has been a major concern for areas like Ambegaon Khurd, Ambegaon Budruk, Undri, Pisoli and other areas. 

Vikram Kumar was apprised of the issues in the areas suffered by the residents and he has agreed to resolve them by May 15. 

Vijay Shivtare told Pune Pulse that the consultant making the DPR will hold a meeting by mid May with the PMC officials and us wherein we will understand the required facilities and soon tenders will be floated for the same work.  So, the work towards resolving the water woes will start by May end. We are hoping that all these development works finish at the earliest and residents get their basic right, adequate drinking water. 

Anirudh Pawaskar, head of water department said, “We are working on resolving the water issues for Undri and other merged villages. For a permanent solution to the problem it may take some more time but efforts are on to resolve them.”
