Pune News : Women to get 50 percent concession on ticket in Maha ST buses from today
Pune: Maharashtra state government kick started ‘Mahila Samman Yojana’ under which all women passengers will get 50 % concession on tickets on all types of buses run by state transport from today.
According to a statement issued by the state transport body on Friday, the state government will reimburse the concession amount to the transport body.
Earlier this week, deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis during his budget speech declared that all women passengers who travel by using buses of the state transport body will get 50 % concession in bus tickets. Accordingly, implementation starts from today.
The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) already offers concession in bus tickets from 33% to 100 % for the various society members.Earlier on the backdrop of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ state transport body has announced 100 % bus ticket concession for the people above age of 75 years old. In addition to that, the transport body announced 50 % concession in bus tickets for the people in the age criteria of 65-75 years.
