Pune News: YashOne Society In Wakad Leads The Way In Environmental Conservation With Solar Energy Projects
Wakad, 7 February 2025: YashOne Housing Project’s B and D Wing Society, located on Datta Mandir Road, Wakad has taken significant steps towards environmental conservation with the installation of an on-grid solar project, which will save more than ₹12 lakh annually on electricity bills. Along with this energy savings, the society aims to plant four to five thousand trees annually, setting an ideal example for others to follow.
The solar projects for both wings were recently inaugurated by Rahul Kalate, youth leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Also present at the event were society president Lalit Doshi, Akul Patel, secretary Abhijit Bhattacharjee, Yogesh Sharma, treasurer Amol Ghadge, and several other committee members, along with a large number of society members.

The B Wing has installed an 18 kW capacity solar on-grid project. The system will generate about 90 units per day and 2,600 units per month, resulting in a savings of over ₹40,000 per month and more than ₹5 lakh per year. This project is equivalent to planting 1,000 trees. The D Wing has set up a 25 kW capacity system that generates around 100 units daily and 3,000 units monthly, leading to savings of about ₹60,000 per month and over ₹7 lakh annually. This is equivalent to producing 20 tons of oxygen per year.
“With the global threat of global warming, it is essential for every individual to contribute to prevent it. YashOne Society has taken crucial and exemplary steps in environmental conservation and protection. Their efforts should be adopted by other societies as well to help in the preservation of our environment.” said Rahul Kalate, Youth Leader, Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar).
