Pune, February 5, 2025: A young man’s acquaintance through a friendship app turned costly after he was lured and robbed near Hadapsar Railway Station. The victim was assaulted, and his gold chain worth ₹42,000 was stolen.

The 24-year-old victim, a resident of Hadapsar, filed a complaint at the Mundhwa Police Station. He had connected with an individual through the app, who invited him to meet near Hadapsar Railway Station on January 23. Upon reaching the Lakshmi Lawn area, the victim was attacked in a nearby field, and his gold chain was forcibly taken. The assailants also threatened to kill him if he reported the incident. Initially frightened, the young man recently approached the police to file the complaint.

In a similar incident in the same area, a software engineer was lured via an app and robbed after being called to Hadapsar Railway Station. The thieves assaulted him and stole his cash. Another case occurred on DSK Vishva Road in Dhayari, where a businessman was trapped and robbed. In that case, Nanded City Police arrested a youth along with two juvenile accomplices.
