Pune: No Resignation Received From Prashant Jagtap, Says Supriya Sule
Mumbai, December 23, 2025: Senior Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar faction) leader and MP Supriya Sule on Tuesday dismissed reports claiming that Pune city party chief Prashant Jagtap has resigned from his post, stating that no such resignation has been officially submitted to her or routed through the party’s state president Shashikant Shinde.
Speaking to media persons in Mumbai, Sule said she had no formal information regarding Jagtap’s resignation. “There is no resignation letter submitted to me. As per party protocol, it should also reach state president Shashikant Shinde, but that has not happened either. Matters can only be confirmed once they officially reach us,” she said.
Sule added that she came to know about the alleged development only through media reports. “I have learned about this incident from the media. I have not received any communication regarding this from Shashikant Shinde,” she clarified.
Responding to questions about the possibility of a merger or alliance between the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar faction) and the Ajit Pawar-led NCP, Sule said there is no official information available at present. “Since there is no formal communication on this issue, I will not comment,” she stated.
Her remarks come amid heightened political speculation in Pune and Maharashtra following reports of internal developments within the party ahead of upcoming civic elections.
