At Anandvan 6 on NIBM Undri road, 1,000 Ayurvedic native plants were planted by Assistant Commissioner of Police Satish Govekar to mark his retirement. The programme was held by Anandvan Foundation.

“By working within the bounds of the law, Satish Govekar not only corrected criminals but also saved many families on the verge of breaking apart. They guided individuals struggling with addiction onto the right path. President’s Medal Winner Satish Govekar, in his khaki uniform, brought about significant change in society. Such individuals are needed in every field,” expressed former Corporator Nanda Lonkar at a tree plantation programme held on NIBM Undri road.

Govekar has twice been awarded the President’s Medal by the Central Government. Many citizens, young and old, participated in the event, which was organized by Education Board member Narayan Lonkar. Among those present were tree enthusiasts Kumar Anand, Sanjay Lonkar, Zoeb Qazi, entrepreneur Vikram Salunkhe, Vilas Kapare, Vishwanath Lonkar, Naim Shaikh, Geeta Misni, Altaf Shaikh, Pravin Tambe, Vaishali Subramanyam, and a large number of local residents.

While serving in the Kondhwa area, people showered me with love and support. During my long service in the police force, I was fortunate to have excellent officers and colleagues. I hope to continue receiving your love, expressed retired ACP Satish Govekar during the tree plantation.
