Pune: 36 thousand women recited Atharva Shirsha in an atmosphere mesmerized by the blowing of conch shells by women and chanting Morya Morya on the morning of Rishi Panchami. 

As per information, by Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Public Ganapati Trust, Suvarnayug Tarun Mandal, 36 thousand women recite Atharva Shirsha in front of Utsav Mandap on the occasion of Rishi Panchami. Chanting the name of Ganesha, women felt the bliss of the auspicious morning.

Sandeep Karnik, Pune Joint Commissioner of Police, Mahesh Suryavanshi, Trust Treasurer, Prakash Chavan, Suvarnayug Tarun Mandal President, Yatish Rasane, Amar Kodre, Saurabh Raikar, Mangesh Suryavanshi, Rajabhau Ghodke, Dyaneshwar Rasane, Vilas Raskar, Activity Heads Shubhangi Bhalerao, Archana Bhalerao, Vijay Bhalerao Trustees and office bearers were also present on this occasion.

Foreign devotees from Russia and Thailand also participated. This year marks the 36th year of the Atharva Shirsha Pathan initiative. After blowing the conch, the women bowed to Ganaraya by chanting Omkar and reciting the main Atharva Shirsha. Also, women paid obeisance to Ganaraya by raising their hands and clapping their hands. Women also raised the mobile torch and cheered for Ganaraya.

The first team of 20 women showed up at 2 a.m. Since then, women from all over Maharashtra started coming here for the activity. Women in traditional dress thronged the Utsav Mandapam to chant Atharva Shirsha till dawn. T

The area from Utsav Mandapa to the front of Hutatma Chowk was filled with a disciplined queue of women. On this occasion, dignitaries and ladies expressed their feelings that this program would increase the glory of Ganeshotsav. The program was moderated by Gauri Kulkarni.
