Pune : Overflowing Drainage Troubles Undri Residents

Pune: Residents of Undri residential society like Hills N Dales society are troubled by the constant overflowing drainages on both sides of the society.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, Tanushree Bhargava, a resident of Hills N Dales Society, Undri, said, “Both the drainage have been overflowing for the last two to three days. Due to drainage overflowing, kids who come back from their schools aren’t able to walk from the society gates. Even school buses or vans aren’t ready to come inside the society to drop them because of this overflowing. There are various eateries nearby. Not sure how people stand & eat there. The residents are living in an area full of stench.”
Nafisa Kakajiwala, a resident of Hills N Dales Society, Undri said, “The nalas at both sides of the society have been overflowing. The situation is becoming very bad as people coming from outside to visit aren’t able to enter the society. Senior citizens aren’t able to walk or drive properly as there is a constant fear of slipping due to this overflowing. So, some concrete resolution must be there from the relevant authorities to ensure that such incidents do not happen again.”
Balkrishna Gaikwad, Estate Manager, Hills N Dales Society, Undri said, “The drainages at 2 sides of the society have been overflowing since some days. Mainly, it seems the overflowing is happening due to an issue in the main Undri to Hadapsar drainage line.”
Shashikant Nivdekar, Junior Engineer, PMC Kondhwa Yeolewadi Ward Office said, “We have reached the spot of drainage overflowing. With the help of more of our workers, we will find out about the issue & resolve it soon.”
