Pune Palkhi 2025: Major Traffic Diversions Announced Across Pune District For Sant Dnyaneshwar and Sant Tukaram Palkhi Procession
Pune, June 18: In view of the annual Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi processions, Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi has issued official orders regarding traffic diversions and alternate routes in rural areas of the district during the journey.
Traffic Diversions for Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi:
- On June 22, 2025, the palkhi will travel from Pune to Saswad and will halt overnight at Saswad.
From 2 AM on June 22 till midnight of June 24, traffic from Pune to Saswad via Dive Ghat and Bopdev Ghat will be completely restricted.
Alternate route: Via Khadi Machine Chowk – Katraj – Kapurhol.
Traffic from Saswad to Pune will be diverted via Garade – Khed Shivapur. - From June 24 to 25, the palkhi will proceed from Saswad to Jejuri and then to Valhe, halting at both places.
From 2 AM on June 24 till midnight of June 25, traffic from Pune to Saswad–Jejuri–Valhe–Nira and vice versa will be diverted via Zhendewadi – Pargaon Memane – Supa – Morgaon – Nira. - On June 26, the palkhi will halt at Lonand.
From 2 AM to 5 PM, traffic between Pune and Nira via Saswad–Jejuri–Valhe will be diverted via Saswad–Jejuri–Morgaon. - From June 26 to June 28, the palkhi will move from Lonand to Phaltan.
During this time, traffic between Pune and Phaltan via Lonand will be diverted via Shirwal.
Traffic Diversions for Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi:
- On June 23, the palkhi will travel from Loni Kalbhor to Yavat, halting at Yavat.
From 2 AM to midnight, traffic from Pune to Solapur will be diverted via Wagholi – Kesnand – Rahu – Pargaon – Chauphula.
Solapur to Pune traffic will be diverted via Chauphula – Pargaon – Rahu – Kesnand – Wagholi. - On June 24, the palkhi will move from Yavat to Varvand, halting there.
From 2 AM to midnight, Pune to Solapur traffic will be diverted via Theur Phata – Kesnand – Rahu – Pargaon – Nhavare – Kashti – Daund – Kurkumbh, and Solapur to Pune traffic via Kurkumbh – Daund – Kashti – Nhavare – Pargaon – Rahu – Wagholi – Pune. - On June 25, the palkhi will travel from Varvand to Undwadi (Baramati Taluka), halting at Undwadi.
From 2 AM to midnight, Pune to Solapur traffic will be diverted via Chauphula – Pargaon – Nhavare – Kashti – Daund – Kurkumbh, and vice versa.
The roads from Baramati to Patas and Baramati to Daund will also remain closed.
Traffic will be rerouted via Bhigwan to Baramati, and from Baramati to Solapur–Pune highway via Bhigwan.
Vehicles from Baramati to Patas will use Baramati – Loni Pati – Supa – Chauphula – Patas, and vice versa. - On June 26, the palkhi will travel from Undwadi to Baramati, halting in Baramati.
From 2 AM to midnight, roads from Baramati to Patas and Daund will be closed.
Alternate route: via Bhigwan to Baramati and onward to Solapur–Pune highway. - On June 27, the palkhi will reach Sansar.
From 2 AM to midnight, the road between Junction and Baramati will be closed.
Traffic from Walchandnagar and Indapur will be diverted via Kalas to Ashti through Baramati.
Vehicles from Baramati will be routed via Bhigwan – Kalas – Junction. - On June 28, the palkhi will move from Sansar to Anthurne, halting at Nimgaon Ketki.
From 2 AM on June 28 to midnight of June 29, all traffic from Baramati to Indapur will be diverted via Baramati – Kalamb – Bawada – Indapur or Baramati – Bhigwan – Indapur.
Traffic from Indapur to Baramati will be rerouted via Indapur – Bawada – Kalamb – Baramati or Indapur – Bhigwan – Baramati. - On June 29, the palkhi will travel from Nimgaon Ketki to Indapur, halting there.
From 2 AM to midnight, traffic from Nimgaon Ketki to Indapur will be halted.
Indapur to Baramati traffic will be diverted via Loni Devkar – Kalas – Junction or Loni Devkar – Bhigwan. - On June 30, from 4 AM to 8 PM, traffic from Akluj to Baramati will be diverted via Akluj – Bawada – Natepute – Baramati.
For those heading from Akluj to Baramati and Pune, the Indapur highway is advised.
The Old Pune–Solapur road in Indapur city will remain closed.
Traffic will be rerouted via Malojiraje Chowk to Mahatma Phule Chowk. - On July 1, the palkhi will move from Indapur to Sarati, halting at Sarati.
From 2 AM to midnight, and on July 3 from 2 AM to 12 PM, the Indapur–Akluj road will be completely closed.
Traffic between Indapur and Akluj will be diverted via Indapur – Hingangaon – Tembhurni – Ganeshgaon – Malinagar – Akluj and in reverse from Akluj – Natepute – Walchandnagar – Junction – Bhigwan.
These orders have been issued to ensure smooth procession flow and public safety during the spiritual and culturally significant Ashadhi Wari 2025.
