Pune, July 8, 2026: The Pune Traffic Police have announced special traffic arrangements for the annual Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi processions, which will have a joint halt in Pune city from July 9 to July 10, 2026.

Anticipating a large influx of devotees for darshan, the Traffic Police have introduced temporary traffic diversions and restrictions along the Palkhi route and surrounding areas to ensure smooth, safe and well-regulated vehicular movement. The changes have been implemented by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Dr. Sandeep Bhajibhakare under the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act and in accordance with the Maharashtra Government notification.

The restrictions, however, will not apply to vehicles providing essential services, including fire brigade, police, ambulances, fuel tankers carrying petrol and diesel, and vehicles associated with marriage functions.

To facilitate devotees arriving for darshan, the Pune Traffic Police have designated 10 special parking locations within the jurisdiction of the Samarth Traffic Division. The authorised parking facilities are available at:

  • Tilak Ayurved College, Rasta Peth
  • Ornelas High School, Quarter Gate Chowk
  • Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Commerce and Arts College, Nana Peth
  • Laxmi Market, Nana Peth (Nehru Road)
  • S. G. Barve Primary School, Rasta Peth
  • Rafi Ahmed Kidwai High School, Bhavani Peth
  • Shantabai Ladkat Primary School, Nana Peth
  • S. G. Barve School, Rasta Peth
  • Markandeya Vidyalaya, Nana Peth
  • Savitribai Phule School, Bhavani Peth

The Pune Traffic Branch has appealed to devotees to cooperate with traffic personnel, follow all traffic regulations, and park their vehicles only at the designated parking facilities to avoid congestion.
