1500 cyclists pedal for faith; will cover 500 km in two days

Pimpri: Around 1500 cyclists have participated in the Cycle Waari of Indo Athletics Society which departed from the Gatha mandir area in Dehu on Saturday. Sanjay Bhise, founder of Unnati Social Foundation at Pimple Saudagar, flagged off the cyclists.  

As per the information, online registrations were done at Vitthal Mandir in Akurdi for this event. The participating cyclists will cover a distance of five hundred kilometres in just two days.

Nitin Wankhede, MIDC Chief Executive Officer, Prakash Shedbale,  Vaidyanath Hospital Aurangabad Doctors Sandeep Sanap, Anil Sanap, CA Krishnalal Bansal, Entrepreneur Anna Biradar, Subodh Medsikar Transport Officer, Ajay Darekar, Maharashtra Police Officer, Indo Athletics Society Gajanan Khaire, BHP Tanaji Kalbhor, Ganesh Bhujbal, Ajit Patil, Atul Patil etc were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion Bhise said, “Everyone is curious about Vithuraya of Pandhari, from elderly people to children. Hence, cyclists of the Indo Athletics Society are giving a unique message of maintaining environmental balance on the occasion of this year’s Waari. We wish them good luck.”

As per the information, these warkaris are going to ride from Dehu to Pandharpur in one day and Pandharpur to Alandi on the next day. Gajanan Khaire of the Indo Athletics Society said that the cycle route will be Dehu, Nigdi, Nashik phata, Hadapsar, Uruli Kanchan, Bhigwan, Indapur, Temburni, Pandharpur and the return journey will be on the same route on the next day.
