Pune : Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Music Festival to take place between June 16 and 18

Pune, June 13: The Bharat Ratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Music Festival jointly organized by the Kalashree Sangeet Mandal and Aundh Social Foundation led by Abhijit Gaikwad will take place at Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Kalamandir, Aundh between June 16th and 18th. Timing of the festival would be 5:00pm to 10:00pm on all days. In its 10th edition the festival is open to all on a first come first serve basis. There is no entry fee.  

The festival will begin with the performance of Siddhant Kamble (Flute), who is a disciple of Pandit Keshav Ginde. It will be followed by the performances of Veteran Vocalists Pandit Sudhakar Chavan and Vidushi Manjusha Patil.

The second day will feature Kishori Janorikar (Vocal), Shantanu Gokhale (Santoor) and Pandit Shaunak Abhisheki (Vocal). The artists line-up on the third and final day will have Viraj Joshi (Vocal), Deepak Bhanuse (Flute) and Aarti Anklikar Tikekar (Vocal).

Artists who will accompany the main artists throughout the festival include Suyog Kundalkar, Prabhakar Pandav, Avinash Dighe, Uday Kulkarni, Gangadhar Shinde, Bharat Kamat, Prashant Pandav, Pandurang Pawar, Avinash Patil, Kishor Korde, Nandkishor Dhore, NIlesh Randive, Kartik Swami, Yash Trishran and Gambhir Maharaj. Akash Thite will play the host for the entire festival.

The Pandit Bhimsen Joshi award instituted by the Kalashree Sangeet Mandal would be given to Prof Vishwas Jadhav, Registrar of the Akhil Bhartiya Gandharv Mahavidyalay. The award is in the form of a memento and Rs.11000/- cash. The award would be presented on the first day of this festival.
