Pune: PCMC Cracks Down on Property Tax Defaulters; 27 Properties Sealed, Recovery Drive Intensified
Pimpri, October 17, 2025: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has intensified its property tax recovery campaign, initiating strict seizure actions against defaulters. So far, 27 properties across the city have been sealed, and notices have been issued to several others. The tax collection department, through its 18 divisional offices, has begun direct on-site actions to seize properties of defaulters.
Despite repeated notices and appeals, many property owners failed to clear their dues, prompting Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale Patil and Assistant Commissioner Avinash Shinde to instruct all divisional offices to carry out stringent recovery operations. The campaign will continue extensively for the next month, targeting all residential and commercial tax defaulters.
Each divisional office has been assigned teams responsible for recovery and seizure operations. Since October 1, 2025, these teams have been visiting properties to enforce the seizure process. Eighteen teams across divisions are actively conducting drives daily. So far, 27 properties have been sealed, and in some cases, water connections have been disconnected. During the operations, 125 defaulters paid their dues on the spot to avoid seizure.
“PCMC has launched large-scale recovery action against property tax defaulters. There will be no leniency. Strict measures, including property seizure and disconnection of water connections, have been initiated.”
— Pradeep Jambhale Patil, Additional Commissioner, PCMC
“Despite repeated warnings, many property owners have failed to pay their taxes. The civic body has no choice but to proceed with seizures. Clear instructions have been given to all divisional offices, and defaulters are urged to pay their pending dues immediately.”
— Avinash Shinde, Assistant Commissioner, PCMC
