Pimpri-Chinchwad, June 13, 2026:The Education Department of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has issued a show-cause notice on June 3, 2026 to Euro School, Wakad, and Euro School West Campus for allegedly refusing admission to students eligible under the Right to Education (RTE) Act’s 25% reservation quota.

According to a written representation submitted to the Education Officer, a parent stated that her son was allotted admission through the RTE process and that all required documents, including a valid disability certificate, were duly verified by the PCMC verification committee. The school copy of the documents was submitted on April 24, 2026.

The parent stated that, as per the school’s instructions, she attended an initial discussion on May 1 and continued to follow up regularly regarding the admission process. Subsequently, on May 27, both parents and the child attended an interaction session with the school counsellor and principal. During the meeting, they were informed that the matter would be discussed with the school’s corporate office and that further communication would be provided.

However, despite the passage of several weeks, the admission process has reportedly not been completed, and the family has not received any final written communication from the school regarding the child’s admission.

According to the notice issued by the Primary Education Department, complaints were received that the school management had not granted admission to students selected through the RTE admission process. The department stated that such actions could deprive eligible children of their right to free and compulsory education guaranteed under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009.

The notice directs the school authorities to immediately admit the eligible students under the RTE quota. It further warns that failure to comply may be treated as an obstruction to the RTE admission process, resulting in educational loss to students.

PCMC has cautioned that if necessary action is not taken, proceedings could be initiated to cancel the school’s recognition under the provisions of the RTE Act, 2009. The notice also states that criminal action may be considered against those responsible.

The directive has been issued by Sangita Bangar, Administrative Officer, Primary Education Department, PCMC, with copies marked to the Director of Education and the Education Officer of Pune Zilla Parishad.
