Pune, 24 November 2025: Amid growing safety concerns at fuel stations, the Petrol Dealers Association Pune met Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey and Additional Commissioner Sarang Awad to seek urgent intervention. The meeting focused on the increasing incidents of assaults on petrol pump employees, fuel theft by customers fleeing without payment, the use of vehicles without number plates, and cyber fraud leading to the freezing of dealer accounts.

During the discussion, the association flagged the rising threat to frontline workers and the operational challenges caused by such incidents.

Police officials assured that patrolling around fuel stations will be intensified and strict action will be taken against number-plate violations. They also committed to closer coordination with the Cyber Cell to prevent financial disruptions caused by fraudulent online transactions.
