Pune, December 23, 2025: Ahead of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) General Elections 2025–26, the civic administration has intensified preparations by appointing key election officials and streamlining systems to facilitate candidates and voters.

As part of the process, 15 Election Officers have been appointed along with 15 Assistant Election Officers (Level 1), 15 Assistant Election Officers (Level 2) and 15 Assistant Election Officers (Level 3). Locations of all election offices have been finalised.

To manage election-related work efficiently, the PMC has set up 22 dedicated cells, with 15 nodal officers appointed at the central level. Additionally, nodal officers have also been designated at the level of Election Officers for all 22 cells.

To assist candidates, the PMC has introduced a computerised system for issuing No Dues and No Objection Certificates from various civic departments. Candidates can apply for these certificates either at a single location or through an online platform. Furthermore, single-window facilitation centres are being established at each Election Officer’s office to issue permissions required for campaigning, including vehicle permits, temporary campaign offices, corner meetings and public rallies. Work is underway to further simplify these processes through enhanced digital systems.

From a law and order perspective, the police department has been informed to deploy 160 police personnel for election duties.

For polling day operations, appointment orders have been issued for around 23,000 staff members, including presiding officers and polling officers. Strong rooms, polling material distribution centres and reception centres are being finalised by the respective Election Officers. Across 41 wards, a total of 4,012 polling stations have been identified, and booth-wise voter lists are currently being prepared based on the final electoral roll.

The PMC administration stated that the entire civic machinery is working at a war footing and is fully prepared to conduct the PMC General Elections 2025–26 smoothly and efficiently.
