On Saturday, PMC will start developing town planning schemes across more than 600 hectares in Phursungi and Uruli Devachi.

The program will be attended by deputy chief ministers Ajit Pawar and Devendra Fadnavis as well as chief minister Eknath Shinde.

Officials from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) say the occasion is important because it marks the launch of three TP programs by the municipal organization after forty years. Urban planners applauded the action, claiming that the plans will expedite development with little to no expenditure for purchasing land.

According to PMC Commissioner Vikram Kumar, the administration will begin building roads and establishing other facilities. After completing formalities such as arbitration and consultation with landowners, the groundwork can begin.

According to civic officials, PMC is promoting the scheme across different regions due to its numerous advantages. In these areas, it will be possible to build infrastructure such as roads, water supply lines, gardens, public hospitals, drainage systems, and sewage systems. Private TPs will receive the benefits.

A total of about 608.95 hectares of land will be developed as part of these schemes, according to PMC data. These comprise two schemes totaling 260.67 hectares each in Phursungi and 238.50 hectares in Uruli Devachi, as well as 109.78 hectares in Uruli. At 430 p.m., the program will take place at Sangamwadi.

Pune has been at the forefront of TP development. Initiatives to implement TP schemes started as early as 1915 during the British era. Eight significant TP schemes for the city were created between 1939 and 1989. These projects have been launched in the Deccan, Hadapsar Industrial Estate, Gultekdi, Parvati, Sangamwadi, and Mangalwar Peth.
