Pune: PMC to Initiate Criminal Proceedings Against Illegal Hoarding Offenders

Pune’s Riverbed Road Expansion From Rajput Vasahat To Erandwane Gets PMC Approval
Pune, February 5, 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced plans to escalate its crackdown on illegal hoardings and banners across the city by initiating criminal cases against violators.
Prashant Thombre, head of PMC’s sky hoarding department, stated that the campaign against unauthorized hoardings began three months ago following court directives. “We have been actively removing illegal hoardings and collecting fines from offenders. Moving forward, we will intensify this effort and file criminal cases against those defacing the city with unauthorized advertisements,” Thombre said.
Since the drive commenced in October 2024, the PMC has collected ₹5.23 lakh in fines. The corporation aims to maintain the city’s visual appeal and ensure compliance with regulations, warning that stricter legal measures will be enforced against repeat offenders.
