Pune, April 16, 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has issued a public warning after receiving reports that some citizens were sent fraudulent messages between April 14, 2025, claiming their water connections would be disconnected due to unpaid dues.

In an official statement, the PMC clarified that these messages were not sent by the Water Supply Department and appear to be part of a scam by unknown fraudsters. The corporation has urged citizens not to engage in any financial transactions or click on suspicious links sent from unknown mobile numbers or individuals.

To assist residents, the PMC has reiterated the use of its official platforms for accessing water meter bills and making payments. Citizens can verify and pay their water bills securely through PMC’s Virtual Assistant WhatsApp Chatbot (No. 8888251001) or the official website at http://watertax.punecorporation.org.

For further assistance, residents are encouraged to contact the PMC Call Center at 1800103222 or get in touch with their respective meter readers.
