Pune : PMPML collects revenue of Rs 1.95 crores on Raksha Bandhan Day ; Metro sees surge in passengers

Pune: On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, many people utilized the Metro and Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) services.
As per the information, PMPML also saw an increase in the number of passengers on Wednesday. While talking to Pune Pulse, Satish Gate, PMPML’s Public Relations Officer added, ”PMPML and Metro received a good response on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. Approximately 1,930 buses were running on different routes, collecting over Rs 1.95 crore. Also, 13.78 lakh passengers utilized the service.”
While talking to Pune Pulse, Hemant Sonawane, Pune Metro’s Public Relations Officer added, ”As many as 10,490 passengers travelled on the PCMC to Civil Court route and 13,420 passengers travelled on the Vanaj-Ruby Hall route till 4 pm on Wednesday. On Wednesday, the rush of passengers at various metro stations was relatively high. However, detailed information will be shared on Thursday about the number of passengers travelling and revenue collected as the inauguration of extended routes completes one month.”
