Pune : PMPML Introduces Bus Service Linking Pimpri Chinchwad City with Metro
PUNE: Enhancing public transportation connectivity, the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal (PMPML) has launched a new circular bus service in Pimpri Chinchwad city, offering seamless integration with the metro network. Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Commissioner Shekhar Singh emphasized the significance of utilizing public transport to alleviate traffic congestion.
The inaugural event took place at the Pimpri Metro station, where Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh, PMPML Chairman and Managing Director Sachindra Pratap Singh, and Maha Metro Managing Director Vinod Kumar Agarwal inaugurated the service.
Among the attendees were Additional Municipal Commissioner Ulhas Jagtap, Health Medical Officer Laxman Gofane, Assistant City Engineer Pramod Ombhase, Deputy Commissioner Ravikiran Ghodke, and Chief Security Officer Uday Jarande. Sachindra Pratap Singh, Chairman and Managing Director of PMPML, highlighted the initiative’s objective of fostering interconnectedness between public transportation systems, particularly the metro.
The PMPML circular bus service has been introduced as a feeder service for route number 1 of the MahaMetro. Commissioner Shekhar Singh remarked, “With the recent launch of the Maha Metro route from Pimpri to Pune Civil Court, citizens can now travel conveniently and swiftly, saving valuable time.”
Vinod Kumar Agarwal praised the joint effort of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation and PMPML in initiating the metro-linked bus service. This collaborative approach is expected to promote greater use of public transportation, leading to time and cost savings for commuters.
Sachindra Pratap Singh, accompanied by Shekhar Singh and Vinod Kumar Agarwal, inaugurated the circular PMPML bus service connecting Pimpri to Gharkul Chikhali. They also launched the feeder bus service and personally experienced the newly introduced transportation options. PMPML has introduced circular bus routes from Pimpri to Gharkul Chikhali and Pimpri to Kalewadi Phata, enhancing accessibility and convenience for residents.
