Pune: PMRDA Demolishes Illegal Hoarding In Bhugaon; Crackdown Intensifies In Mulshi Taluka
Pune, May 19, 2026: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has intensified its drive against illegal and hazardous hoardings across the Pune Metropolitan Region. As part of the ongoing crackdown, the authority on Sunday demolished a large unauthorized hoarding erected in Bhugaon village of Mulshi taluka.
The action was carried out by PMRDA’s Anti – Encroachment Department on an illegal hoarding installed at Survey No. 44 in Bhugaon. Officials said the structure had been erected by Omkar Advertising on a plot owned by Abhijit Malusare without obtaining the necessary permissions from the authorities.
After the hoarding was found to be unauthorized and potentially dangerous, the PMRDA team launched an immediate demolition drive and removed the structure.
The operation was conducted under the orders of Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Abhijit Chaudhari and under the guidance of Additional Metropolitan Commissioner K. Manjulaxmi. The action was led by Deputy Commissioner (In-charge) of the Unauthorized Construction Department Himmat Kharade, along with a special team comprising Tehsildars Asha Holkar and Ravindra Ranjane.
Officials stated that the campaign against illegal hoardings has been intensified due to the potential threat such structures pose to public safety.
Speaking about the action, Himmat Kharade warned hoarding operators to strictly follow administrative regulations and obtain proper permissions before installing any advertising structures within the Pune Metropolitan Region limits.
“All hoarding owners must secure the required permissions from the administration. Those who have installed hoardings without approval or whose structures are in dangerous condition should remove them voluntarily. Otherwise, strict legal action will be taken without any leniency,” he said.
PMRDA officials further confirmed that the anti-encroachment and anti-illegal hoarding drive will continue in the coming days, particularly across Mulshi taluka and surrounding areas, targeting unauthorized advertising structures.
