Pune: PMRDA Demolishes Illegal Hoarding In Khed Shivapur, Clears Encroachments On Bhugaon–Ghotawade Road Stretch
Pune, May 19, 2026: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has intensified its crackdown against illegal hoardings and road encroachments across the Pune Metropolitan Region, carrying out major demolition drives in Khed Shivapur and along the Bhugaon–Ghotawade Phata road stretch on Tuesday.
As part of the action, PMRDA’s Unauthorized Construction Removal Department removed an illegal hoarding installed by Max Neuro Hospital at Survey No. 114 in Khed Shivapur, Haveli taluka. Officials said the structure had been erected without obtaining the required permissions.

In another joint operation, PMRDA and the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) launched an anti-encroachment drive between Bhugaon and Ghotawade Phata to clear obstructions affecting traffic movement and road safety.
During the operation, authorities demolished six illegally constructed tin sheds located along the roadside. Two compound wall structures encroaching upon road space were also removed. Additionally, officials seized 10 unauthorized advertising boards that were reportedly creating obstacles for motorists.
The action was conducted under the orders of PMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Abhijit Chaudhari and under the guidance of Additional Metropolitan Commissioner K. Manjulaxmi.
The drive was led by Deputy Commissioner (In-charge) of the Unauthorized Construction Department Himmat Kharade, along with Tehsildars Asha Holkar, Ravindra Ranjane and their enforcement teams.
Speaking on the action, Kharade stated that strict action against illegal hoardings and encroachments would continue across PMRDA limits in the coming days.
Dr. Abhijit Chaudhari also appealed to citizens and commercial establishments not to erect hoardings or create encroachments without official permission. He warned that stricter action would be taken against violators and added that PMRDA has simplified the approval process for obtaining permissions for hoardings within its jurisdiction.
