Who Is Shivraj Motegaonkar? RCC Classes Founder Questioned in NEET Paper Leak Investigation
Pune/Latur, May 19, 2026: Shivraj Motegaonkar, popularly known as “M Sir” among medical and engineering entrance aspirants in Maharashtra, is currently being questioned in connection with the ongoing NEET paper leak investigation.
Motegaonkar is the founder of RCC Classes (Renukai Career Center), a well-known coaching institute that prepares students for NEET, JEE and CET examinations across Maharashtra. Over the years, he has built RCC into a major educational brand with centres in cities including Pune, Latur, Nashik, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nanded, Solapur and Kolhapur.
Originally from a farming family in Latur district, Motegaonkar began his career by conducting private tuition classes while pursuing higher education. He reportedly started teaching small batches of students in the late 1990s from a rented classroom and gradually expanded his coaching network over the next two decades.
Known for teaching chemistry, Motegaonkar gained popularity among students for simplifying difficult concepts and providing study material tailored for competitive exams. RCC Classes later expanded into digital learning platforms, statewide test series, mentorship programmes and app-based educational services.
The coaching institute currently attracts thousands of students annually and has a significant social media presence, including educational content shared through Instagram, YouTube and mobile applications.
However, Motegaonkar’s name has now surfaced during the investigation into the alleged NEET paper leak case being probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation. Investigators are reportedly examining his alleged professional links with retired chemistry professor P. V. Kulkarni, who has already been arrested in the case.
Officials are looking into whether Kulkarni, who is believed to have previously taught at RCC Classes, had any connection relevant to the alleged examination malpractice. Authorities have not yet announced any charges against Motegaonkar, and the investigation remains ongoing.
