Pune: PMRDA Warns Against Illegal Hoardings, Urge Strict Compliance with Safety Rules
Pune, March 26, 2026: Authorities have issued a strong advisory against the installation of unauthorized hoardings across the Pune Metropolitan Region, emphasizing the need to follow safety regulations and obtain proper permissions.
The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority stated that while the city is witnessing rapid growth and development, maintaining public safety and urban aesthetics remains a top priority. Officials warned that illegal hoardings not only violate regulations but also pose serious risks to citizens and disrupt planned urban development.
The authority has directed advertisers, contractors, and property owners to ensure that no hoardings are erected without prior approval from the concerned government departments. Violations could lead to criminal action, with no leniency for offenders.
Officials further clarified that full legal responsibility for unauthorized hoardings will lie with advertisers, installers, and landowners. Citizens have also been encouraged to report any illegal structures to the administration for immediate action.
PMRDA reiterated that strict enforcement drives are underway to remove unauthorized hoardings and ensure compliance with regulations. Authorities have called for active public cooperation to help create a safer, well-planned, and visually organized urban environment in Pune.
