Pune Police Announce Alternate Routes on Idgah Maidan, Golibar Chowk Ahead of Bakri Eid

Pune: Muslim community will be celebrating Bakri Eid on Thursday i.e. June 29, 2023 and will offer prayers at mosques and Eidgah grounds/ public places in their respective mohallas. There will be a large number of vehicles travelling in the area of Eidgah Maidan, Golibar Chowk. Hence, it is necessary to temporarily divert the traffic in order to keep the traffic smooth.
So, the Government of Maharashtra, Home Department, along with Traffic Police, Pune City, except for essential service vehicles (e.g. fire brigade, police vehicles, ambulances etc.), has temporarily announced alternative routes for all other vehicles as follows:
- From 6 am on Thursday i.e. June 29 at Idgah in Golibar Ground Chowk Pune, all types of vehicular traffic will be closed from Mammadevi Chowk to Golibar Maidan Chowk to Dhole Patil (Seven Loves) Chowk till the completion of Namaz Pathan. Motorists travelling on this road should use the following alternative routes:

| 2 | While offering Namaz, the traffic coming from CDO Chowk to Golibar Chowkwill be closed completely from 6.00 AM to 11.00 AM | Commuters coming from Lullanagar to Khanya Maruti Chowk can go to their desired destination through Khatav Bangla Chowk, Napier Road, Mammadevi Chowk, Bishop School or through Wanowrie Bazaar Chowk, Bhairoba Nala or through Giridhar Bhavan Chowk |

Apart from this, prayers will also be offered on the Idgah grounds in other parts of the city. Depending on the traffic conditions in the said area, the traffic will be closed or diverted to other routes, however motorists should cooperate with the police to avoid possible inconvenience.
