Pune Police Announce Timetable And Rules For Ganesh Immersion Procession On September 6
Pune, September 3, 2025 – With the city gearing up for the grand Ganesh immersion procession on Anant Chaturdashi (September 6), Pune Police have issued the official timetable for the ‘Manacha Ganpati’ (honoured Ganesh idols) along with strict rules to ensure a smooth and disciplined event.
Procession Timetable For Honoured Ganpatis
- 9:15 am: Kasba Ganpati reaches Tilak Statue, Mandai.
- 9:30 am: Kasba Ganpati procession begins, moving towards Belbagh Chowk.
- 10:15 am: Kasba Ganpati proceeds to Laxmi Road.
- 10:30 am: Second honoured Ganpati, Tambdi Jogeshwari, proceeds from Belbagh Chowk to Laxmi Road.
- 1:00 pm: Sixth (PMC Ganpati) and seventh (Twashta Kasar Ganpati) join the procession.
- 3:45 pm: Mandals from Laxmi Road and Shivaji Road join.
- 4:00 pm: Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati joins.
- After 5:30 pm: Jilbya Maruti and Akhil Mandai Ganpati mandals join.
Procession Rules Issued by Police
- Playing of dhol-tasha (traditional drums) is strictly prohibited between Tilak Statue and Belbagh Chowk; allowed only after Belbagh Chowk.
- Each mandal is allowed only one DJ or one dhol-tasha troupe, with a maximum of 60 members.
- Mandals must maintain proper distance, avoid breaking lines, and follow procession discipline.
- Until Kasba Ganpati reaches Alka Talkies Chowk, no other mandal is permitted to halt there.
- Processions on Tilak Road, Kumthekar Road, and Kelkar Road cannot begin before 10:30 am.
- At Belbagh Chowk, priority will be given to mandals listed in Annexures 1, 2, and 3. Other mandals will be allowed entry on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Pune Police Commissionerate, through a press conference, urged all Ganesh mandals and devotees to follow the rules strictly to ensure the historic immersion procession is conducted peacefully and without disruption.
